THE GENEROSITY of Whaley Bridge Ladies Guild members has helped a High Peak charity edge closer to a fundraising milestone.
The women raised £560 from a series of coffee mornings, sales of hand-made cards, a raffle, and a tea party to celebrate the Royal Wedding.
The proceeds have been donated to Daniel’s Light, a fundraising organisation set-up by Furness Vale residents John and Joyce Shacklock, in memory of their son Daniel, to benefit the Adult Leukaemia Unit of the Christie Hospital.
Joyce, a member of the ladies guild, said: “We are thrilled to receive this amount of money. Over the years, the support such as this has been incredible, and we hope that, by this time next year, we will have raised £200,000.”
